Welcome to the new year! The project that I am working on is finally drawing to a close. Have been shooting a bit as well. Nick, a good bouldering friend of mine had asked me to shoot his registration of marriage about a month back and I was only too happy to oblige. Haven’t been shooting much before that and it felt good to pull the camera out again.
This was probably one of the most casual shoots I’ve ever been to. Rocked up at 1215 at the Treasury Building in Melbourne to shoot the proceedings and then adjourned to the Treasury Gardens for a really quick shoot before the entourage had to go for lunch at the Sofitel. All in all, it was quite a productive day and I’m pretty happy with the way the pictures came out. As formal as these things are, there was a very light hearted mood all around and this definitely made the shoot go a lot smoother. The facial expressions say it all! Shooting-wise, nothing all that fancy. Just mostly bounced flash (thank god for low white ceilings!) and abit of fill flash every now and then when outdoors.
Was also trying to work out a more streamlined way of editing the pictures in Lightroom. I usually do part of the editing in LR and finish them off in Photoshop, but I find that I easily get swamped when there’s loads of photos to go through. Sat at the computer working out some more presets and managed to go through this batch of photos a bit more quickly.
Thanks again, Nick and Suzanne for letting me in on your big day!
